Measurements must be taken by a professional tailor. We use them to make the gown with room for your changing body; we do not take final measurements or guarantee an exact fit. Please send measurement photos from the tailor.
Your pattern is drafted by hand. Every seam sewn by hand — no factory, no shortcuts.
A mock-up is recommended only for complex designs or when a construction or fit detail needs testing.
Beading, lace, rope trim, buttons — every decorative element added by hand at this stage.
The finished gown is steamed and photographed. You see it before it ships — you give the green light.

How do I take my measurements, and will my dress fit perfectly?
Every Lutien Bridal gown is made to your individual measurements, which helps minimize the need for alterations after delivery.
Once you submit the form on our Contact page, we will send you a detailed measurement list together with a photo guide explaining how each measurement should be taken.
Your measurements must be taken by a professional tailor or seamstress following our guide. Even professionals can use slightly different measuring methods, so it is important to follow our instructions and examples as closely as possible. Self-measurements are not accepted.
Please keep in mind that a made-to-measure gown created remotely, without an in-person fitting during production, is an adapted fit rather than a fully fitted garment. A perfect fit can only be achieved through in-person fittings, so minor local alterations may still be needed after your gown arrives. Lutien Bridal does not cover the cost of these alterations.
Alterations may be necessary because a measurement list cannot capture every detail of the body’s shape and proportions; measurements may vary slightly depending on how they are taken; your measurements may change between ordering and the wedding; and certain silhouettes fit differently on different body types.
That said, most of our brides are very happy with the fit of their gowns upon arrival and require either no alterations or only minor adjustments.
What if the dress doesn't fit when it arrives?
We make each gown to the measurements provided by your professional tailor or seamstress, not to standard sizing, so major fit issues are rare when those measurements are accurate. Because remote made-to-measure production does not include an in-person fitting, minor local alterations may still be needed after delivery. Lutien Bridal does not cover these alteration costs.
Will I have to pay customs or import duties?
All shipments are fully insured and sent by UPS. Delivery takes 3–7 working days worldwide and 2–4 working days within Europe. Import duties, taxes and customs charges depend on your destination; please check
Can I see the dress before it ships?
Yes — that's part of our process. We photograph your gown at every stage: fabric cut, first fitting on the dress form, finished before pressing. We don't send anything without your green light.
How long does a custom gown take?
Production takes 10–12 weeks. We recommend ordering approximately 10 months before your wedding. No rush fee applies at 6 months or more. The rush fees are €500 at 5 months, €700 at 4 months and €1,000 at 3 months. We do not accept orders with less than 3 months remaining.
Can I customize a design from the collection?
Yes. Changes to the neckline, sleeves, length, fabric and other details may be possible. Contact us and we will be happy to advise you on the options and prepare an individual quote.
